A new production of this well-loved classic is to be performed by a Wirral cast assembled by H&T Productions in association with Hand in Hand Theatre at The Oldershaw School from Thurs 30th Sept to Sat 2nd October.
H&T Productions are Michael Hetherington and Jonathan Taylor, both well known as experienced actors in many local societies, who will play the characters of Jack and Algernon both of whom pretend to be the fictitious Earnest. Joining them in the cast are some familiar faces from across the region. Katy Ashton and Elllie Hillman will play their love interests – Gwendolyn and Cecily, Jill Brecon will play the formidable Lady Bracknell with Viv Sebastian and Simon Killeen as Miss Prism and Doctor Chasuble. David Crosby will appear in a small cameo role.
H&T invited Bev Clark from Hand in Hand to direct the production after success with her own play Remembrance Day last year. Together they are presenting a stylish and elegant piece of theatre with the unusual staging of playing to three sides of the auditorium.
